Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a candidate to oversee contract pig units, learn all farm departments, and ultimately drive financial and production performance.

The role emphasizes leading by training staff, mastering production processes, and reporting on experiences and improvements. Relocation package is available and the role requires adherence to IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare, and EMS policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field required.
• Experience leading staff or projects.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and certify in all farm departments including fulfilling all the requirements and responsibilities in wean to finish production.
• Gain understanding of pig production processes, animal flow, farm health, genetics, husbandry, etc.
• Work as a team player to accomplish daily work and farm goals.
• Develop rapport with personnel and management and prepare required reports.
• Identify and share opportunities for improvement.
