Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Farm Operations Supervisor to lead the production of assigned swine units on site in a multifarm environment. You will oversee financial and production performance, ensure biosecurity and animal welfare compliance, and coach farm managers and staff to improve procedures.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (or related field) and 2+ years of leadership experience; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
• Must have valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company policy.
• Completion of Prod Spec 1 program or 2 years swine experience preferred.
• Must be able to work an average 45 hour week with an average 9 hour workday; weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
• On-call to work in emergency situations including power outages, weather, and staffing shortages.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate production of all assigned swine units, focusing on financial and production performance.
• Supervise farm managers and staff across multiple sites.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity, safety, animal welfare, and environmental policies.
• Monitor animal movements, assess disease or injury, and adjust plans for improvement.
• Develop and train employees and growers on management systems and procedures.
