Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Holding Company is seeking a Farm & Agribusiness Underwriter to evaluate and market new and renewal business within authority limits. The role partners with agents, sales, and marketing to grow profitable Farm & Agribusiness portfolios.

The position emphasizes underwriting quality, regulatory compliance, and strong communication with agents and policyholders, with a hybrid work arrangement and WA preference.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of underwriting, policy services, or related business experience.
• Bachelor’s or an Associate’s degree, or a High School diploma with relevant business experience
• Insurance industry designation(s) and certification(s) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review and assess small to medium size risks of lower complexity; may underwrite moderate complexity accounts.
• Manage underwriting and submission flow for the assigned agency.
• Escalate risks beyond authority to underwriters or leadership as needed.
• Document the underwriting file to verify compliance with guidelines and standards.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to generate submissions within appetite.
• Communicate with agents and policyholders to gather missing information and maintain relationships.
• Participate in agency meetings and training sessions.
• Attend agency functions and industry events.
• Negotiate price, terms, and conditions for new and renewal business with agency partners.
• Evaluate catastrophe exposures using modeling tools to ensure compliance with standards.
• Determine if facultative reinsurance is required or refer as needed.
• Support IT and underwriting initiatives with quality assurance and data initiatives.
• Identify and propose process improvements to streamline workflows.
