WAHVE is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter – Agriculture & Farm professional to work from home for our insurance carrier, MGA or wholesale broker clients. This long‑term, remote role lets you apply your insurance expertise with full or part‑time schedules while enjoying company benefits.

Responsibilities include evaluating farm risks, underwriting guidelines, and partnering with independent agents to maintain profitability.

Qualifications

25 years of full-time work experience.
10 most recent years of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance experience specifically with underwriting of Agricultural & Farm business.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and underwrite farm and agricultural insurance risks, including property, liability, commercial auto, and farm operations exposures.
Review applications, inspection reports, loss histories, and financial information to determine eligibility and pricing.
Apply underwriting guidelines to assess risk and determine appropriate coverage, terms and conditions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent agents and brokers.
Provide underwriting guidance and support to agents regarding farm risks and coverage solutions.
Monitor portfolio performance and make recommendations to maintain profitability.
Collaborate with loss control, claims, and product teams to improve underwriting outcomes.
Stay informed on industry trends, agricultural practices and regulatory requirements.
