Job summary

San Diego Center for Children is seeking a Parent Partner/Peer Support Specialist I to empower families through wraparound services and therapeutic support. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in community-based settings and coordination with schools, clinicians, and social services.

The position emphasizes education, advocacy, crisis intervention, and family engagement, with opportunities for growth and professional development within a culturally diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience as a consumer or caregiver of children’s behavioral health services or related systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide education, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management and other therapeutic services in a community-based manner.
• Collaborate with wraparound team members and community partners to support families.
• Maintain caseloads and documentation per Medi-Cal requirements and SDCC policies.
• Coordinate with schools, psychiatrists, support groups, and other services as appropriate.
• Foster engagement with families and maintain professional boundaries.
