Job summary

San Diego Center for Children is seeking a Parent Partner/Peer Support Specialist I in Escondido, CA. The role focuses on therapeutic services for families within wraparound teams and individual meetings, supporting up to a 10–12 family caseload.

You will collaborate with clinicians and community partners, provide caregiver education, and participate in plan development while meeting Medi-Cal requirements and SDCC policies.

Qualifications

• Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Experience as a consumer or caregiver of Children’s Behavioral Health Services, Child Welfare Services, the juvenile justice system, Regional Center, or Special Education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide education, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation, and other therapeutic services in a community-based fashion.
• Utilize supervision, consultation, and training to deliver high quality services to families.
• Locate, coordinate and develop linguistically and culturally diverse resources and networks for families.
• Share personal experience to engage families while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide culturally competent education and hands-on coaching to parents about the systems and resources.
