Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. seeks a compassionate Family Support Worker to assist families and youth in navigating challenges and promoting healthy development. You will coordinate services under ISP guidelines and work within the YAP wraparound model to support up to six families.

Flexibility is required, with potential evenings and weekends. Travel across Lee and Elmore Counties is expected; a reliable vehicle and driver's license are necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, human and child development, counseling, sociology, or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Experience working with high-risk youth and families preferred.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; EHR experience is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate services for children and families as guided by ISP.
  • Adhere to YAP wraparound advocacy model and ISP interventions.
  • Maintain fidelity to YAP’s model and chosen interventions.
  • Carry a caseload of up to six families and report to the Supervisor and Program Director.
  • Support flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends; travel in Lee and Elmore Counties.

Are you passionate about helping families and making a positive impact in your community? We are looking for a friendly and compassionate individual to join our team as a Family Support Worker. In this role, you will provide essential support and guidance to families in need, helping them navigate challenges and promote healthy development.
Status: Part- Time Hourly
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position: Family Support Workers will provide and coordinate services for children and families as guided by Individualized Service Plans (ISP). They will adhere to the YAP wraparound advocacy model of service with the integration of interventions deemed appropriate by the ISP and maintain fidelity to both YAP’s model and the interventions selected for each family. Family Support Workers will carry a caseload of no more than six (6) families each. They will report to the Supervisor and Program Director.
Availability - Flexible Schedule - Non-Traditional Hours and may require evenings and weekends.
Travel throughout Lee County and Elmore County
Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of social work, psychology, human and child development, counseling, sociology, or a related field, from a college or university accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations of the US.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience
  • Experience working with high-risk youth and families preferred
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient Computer Skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.
