Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director to support the Program Director in hiring, training, and supervising staff. The role requires coordination of client staffing to maximize weekly service hours while ensuring compliance with YAP standards.

The position emphasizes strength-based, culturally competent care, direct service coverage, and collaboration with staff and families. AR licensure and experience with at-risk youth are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred; commensurate experience in community-based agency programs acceptable if degree not required.
  • Licensed in AR (LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC) is required.
  • At least one year of previous experience in managing personnel and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Director with hiring and training new employees.
  • Motivate and supervise staff and provide weekly performance updates to the Director.
  • Coordinate client staffing to ensure adequate delivery of services and compliance with YAP requirements.
  • Provide direct service coverage and be available to support staff and families; including group work.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice systems, and budgeting.

Job description

Summary of Position:This Assistant Director position is responsible to support the Program Director with hiring and training new employees, motivating and providing supervision of staff, and communicating weekly performance to the Director.

  • Responsible to perform intakes, coordinate client staffing to manage the delivery of client service hours to ensure maximum and appropriate levels of weekly services while managing compliance with all YAP and referring authority requirements.
  • Position requires a commitment to strength based, culturally competent and unconditional care philosophy
  • Direct service and coverage required that includes availability to support staff and families as well as group work.
  • Knowledge of child welfare systems, mental health practices, juvenile justice systems, and budgetary concepts are needed.
  • Creativity and pro-active planning are essential to this position.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree generally preferred; commensurate experience in community-based agency programs is acceptable except for programs where the referring authority requires a specific degree.
  • Required to be licensed in AR (LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC)
  • At a minimum, at least one year previous experience in managing personnel and budgets.
  • Experience with at risk youth, probation, court liaison, etc. a plus.
  • In order to perform the job successfully, and the individual should have knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software and word processing software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) System is a plus.
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking is a plus.
