Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time Youth Advocate to support individuals in developmental disability programs, offering flexible hours up to 40 per week, with evening and weekend possibilities.

The role emphasizes self-determination, collaboration with families, and community integration, with a focus on mentoring, safety, and quality of care. Qualifications include degrees as listed and strong communication; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or a related field OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in any other major with one year paid experience OR
• Associates Degree or 60 completed college credits with three years of paid experience working with young adults and/or adults OR
• High School Diploma or GED and one-year experience paid or volunteer, working with young adults and/or adults
• ACRES Certification is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage is required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Status: Part Time Hourly

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $27.00

Schedule: Availability to work flexible hours; up to 40 hours per week. May include evenings and weekends

Summary of the Position: Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is invested in the belief of self-determination and positive approaches for all individuals that we serve in our Developmental Disability Programs.
