Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks a Family Development professional to coordinate and implement family and community engagement for Head Start services in Southern California. You will provide comprehensive support to families, connect them with resources, and help mentor staff to meet program standards.

Requires an associate degree in a related field, CPR/First Aid, and a California Child Abuse Reporter Training.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in social services, family development, mental health, or similar field.
• Must possess or obtain credential/certification in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or related field within 18 months.
• Must possess and maintain current pediatric CPR and first aid certificate.
• Must possess a food handler’s certificate.
• Must complete California-mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training and Pesticide Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements family development, community development, parent involvement, and staff development.
• Provides services to strengthen family relationships and links to community resources.
• May provide training and mentorship to Family Support Worker staff.
• Implements Family and Community engagement services per Head Start standards.
• Identifies resources for families in mental health, child care, education, employment, health, and more.
• Coordinates parent education and prenatal resources for pregnant women.
• Completes family strengths and needs assessments within required timelines and assists with parent meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
