Job summary

Puget Sound Educational Service District is seeking a Family Support Specialist to implement ERSEA processes and support family engagement at Renton offices and subcontracted sites. The role includes outreach, eligibility determinations, and coordinating with families, teachers, and children to support program goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in human services, social services, family services, or counseling; or related degree with 30+ credits; or a Family Development Certificate (within 6 months).
• Experience working with culturally diverse families.
• Professional experience with Case Work.
• Demonstrates commitment to using a racial equity lens.

Responsibilities

• Administers program standards to ensure eligibility and compliance with regulations.
• Assesses family needs and develops action plans to remove barriers to child success.
• Supports parents in developing life skills and family goals.
• Maintains records and documentation.
• Orients participants to programs, processes, and services.
• Participates in hiring and onboarding of new staff at subcontractor locations.
• Plans and facilitates family meetings and parent involvement events.
• Engages with community partners to recruit families and build resources.
• Provides health screenings, immunization verifications, and referrals as required.
