Job summary

Mercedes Diaz Homes Inc. is seeking a Program Instructor for a full-time role in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

The position offers a consistent day shift with hours Monday through Friday and a pay range of $20.00 to $22.50 per hour. The role involves assisting in participant assessments, documentation, and providing developmental support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years old.
• One (1) year of relevant experience working with Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or in the care of the medically fragile.
• A current driver’s license and California automobile insurance coverage for driving your personal vehicle to and from various community locations either independently or with other team members and/or Individuals, and if a company vehicle is available for use, one must also be 21 years of age.
• Ability to read, write and speak English. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in initial and on-going assessment of participants and work with assigned Individuals, their family and “circle of support” to ensure positive experiences.
• Perform documentation and reporting in an accurate and timely manner; engage with key stakeholders as needed.
• Provide first-hand training and developmental support across activities such as health, grooming, mobility, job and personal skills, communication and coping strategies.
