Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Family Store Assistant Manager in Michigan to support the store manager in day-to-day operations and to lead staff in the manager’s absence.

You will supervise clerks, assist with training, ensure cash handling procedures are followed, and help develop customer-focused programs to improve service and drive store performance. A commitment to the mission is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (required).
• Associates degree preferred, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 2 years experience in retail sales.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of clerks to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Assist with training for new personnel.
• Assist with cash receipts and reporting.
• Attend monthly staff meetings for managers and communicate policy updates.
• Assist with leadership of customer development and retention plans for excellent customer experience.
• Report safety hazards and protect personnel, property, and building.
• Report to Manager any detrimental behavior by clerks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
