Job summary

The Salvation Army in Michigan is seeking a Part-Time Family Store Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, operate the POS, balance cash, and ensure the store stays clean and secure.

You will assist customers and donors, price items, set up displays, and promote sales in a friendly, inviting environment. Prior retail experience is preferred and a flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required (or equivalent training/experience).
• Retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers purchasing items via the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Operates cash register, accepts payment and makes change; bags merchandise for customers.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawer; assist in preparing bank deposits as requested.
• Maintain sales and production rotation quotas.
• Price unmarked items of merchandise.
• Clean shelves, counters or tables.
• Follow outdating procedures as instructed.
• Help set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Maintain neatness and security of the cash register area.
• Assist customers donating items; handle inquiries professionally.
• Answer the telephone in a courteous manner.
• Ensure store remains clean and inviting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
