Bethany Christian Services USA LLC is seeking a Part-Time Parent Educator in Effingham, IL. The role involves home visits to support families, teach parenting skills, and connect families with community resources to prevent children from entering foster care.

Strong communication and confidentiality are essential. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services or equivalent level of study from an accredited college.
• Prior work experience in child care, with families, and/or social work, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and compassionate to meet the needs of children.
• Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage.
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with families in the home, teaching homemaking skills, parenting needs, and utilize effective resources.
• Observe all family members interactions and redirect family members according to parenting needs and parent and/or child behaviors.
• Provide transportation for parents and children to and from scheduled appointments.
• Report all child abuse and neglect.
• Maintain accurate records of family interactions.
• Report progress and make recommendation to case managers for future services.
• Attend all mandated trainings.
• Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
