Job summary

Baltimore County is seeking a Family Services Social Worker to support families involved in family law matters. The position operates under the general direction of the Family Services Coordinator and focuses on needs assessments, directing clients to appropriate services, and coordinating on-site support at the Visitation Center of Baltimore County (VCBC).

The role is full-time and grant-funded, requiring licensure (LGSW/LCSW) and at least two years of family-services experience.

Qualifications

• Possession of a LGSW or LCSW Clinical License issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
• Two years of social work experience in a family-related practice area.

Responsibilities

• Assess family needs and identify obstacles to safe custody or access in family law cases.
• Conduct home assessments and background investigations, preparing accurate, comprehensive reports for the Court.
• Provide expert witness testimony as needed.
• Provide client orientations, scheduling assistance, and general support for families utilizing the Visitation Center.
• Collaborate with Court personnel, attorneys, and partner agencies to ensure effective and timely service delivery.
• Maintain detailed documentation, case files, and service records according to Court standards and guidelines.
