Job summary

Baltimore County, MD is seeking a Family Service Division Social Services Assistant/Family Support Worker to assist Social Workers in delivering Out of Home intensive, clinical and concrete services to children in foster care, ensuring safety, wellbeing and permanence. Responsibilities include transporting families, supervising visits, teaching parenting and life skills, and documenting progress.

A High School Diploma is required; prior experience in human services is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience in human services helpful.
• Complete all fields in Work Experience section for evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and/or parents to appointments to access services.
• Supervise family visitations to ensure child safety and guide relationships.
• Teach parenting and life skills and provide feedback and budgeting guidance.
• Prepare case and contact notes within 72 hours of contact and monthly updates.
• Attend court review hearings and family team decision meetings with clients.
• Provide monthly statistics and keep relevant parties informed of case status.
• Participate in Emergency Operations and Quality Assurance activities as needed.
• Provide customer service that meets department standards.
