Job summary

NEMCSA in Gaylord, MI is seeking a Family Services Assistant to connect families with Early Head Start resources and support their children's wellbeing. You’ll recruit families, enroll children and pregnant women, and collaborate with local health providers to meet health requirements.

You'll build strong community partnerships, track program data, and support parent engagement activities while ensuring a positive experience for families we serve.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with at least 1 year in a similar role.
• Associate degree in Business Services or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for families and connect them with resources.
• Recruit and enroll children and pregnant women into Early Head Start and manage waitlists.
• Build relationships with healthcare providers and community partners.
• Track health requirements, collect documentation, and assist with follow-up care.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings and maintain program records.
• Support parent engagement activities and community recruitment efforts.
• Collaborate with Home Visitors and health staff to ensure quality service delivery.
• Participate in training and professional development.
