Job summary

Desert Preschool Academy in Indio, CA seeks a Family Service Specialist to recruit income eligible families, enroll children, and coordinate services across the Agency. Under the Program Director, you will ensure compliance with Title 5 and Title 22 regulations, CACFP, and funding terms while partnering with staff and community partners.

The role requires HS diploma (AA preferred), 2 years’ experience with children and families, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; AA preferred in Social Work, Sociology, Human Development or related coursework.
• Two years of work experience with children and families.
• Bilingual English/Spanish read, write and speak preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

• Recruit income-eligible and categorically eligible families for enrollment.
• Assist families with enrollment applications and required documentation.
• Participate in outreach events and maintain relationships with community partners.
• Educate families about Agency resources and services (energy, housing, food assistance).
• Determine eligibility and submit applications within 30 days.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and Early Childhood Education team on enrollment and orientations.
• Maintain regular communication about a child’s progress and wellbeing.
