Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Family Service Counselor for our US-VA Bluefield location. You will serve families by presenting pre-need and at-need cemetery arrangements, providing empathetic, personalized service and helping generate revenue for the location.

You will prospect, build relationships with families, explain options, and coordinate with funeral directors and staff to ensure high-quality service and satisfaction. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Insurance license if required by state/province law and as prescribed by state boards.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation and prospecting for new families and referrals.
• Network with families to build trust and long-term relationships.
• Explain and present funeral and pre-need options to families.
• Respond to inquiries promptly, professionally and empathetically.
• Prepare for appointments and follow up on family needs and requests.
• Collaborate with funeral directors, location managers and other staff.
• Document and track activity to maintain productivity and referrals.
