Job summary

The NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development is seeking a Deputy Director for the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program within the Office of Housing Access and Stability. This leadership role oversees enrollment, ongoing participation, and strategy for a five‑year program that helps Section 8 participants achieve employment goals.

You will lead a team of 2 team leaders and about 9 specialists, coordinate with CBOs, develop Individual Service Plans, ensure federal reporting, and

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree with two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• High school graduation or equivalent with six years of experience in community work or related duties.
• Education/experience equivalent to the above, with at least one year of experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Oversee enrollment and ongoing participation in the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program.
• Manage a team of 2 team leaders and ~9 FSS specialists.
• Collaborate with Community Based Organizations to develop and implement participant plans.
• Ensure annual federal reporting requirements are met and support funding applications.
• Represent the Director of Special Programs at internal and external meetings.
• Develop and communicate program policy and procedures within the FSS framework.
