Meriden Board of Education seeks a Family School Liaison to connect students, families, and Meriden Public Schools with community partners. The role supports parents as partners in their child’s education by linking learning initiatives with available services and advocacy to help students stay engaged and succeed.

Qualifications

• Act as a student advocate, working with students, families, teachers and service providers.
• Identify needs and help develop plans to improve academic motivation and social development.
• Monitor progress of identified students attending Meriden Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a link between students, families, Meriden Public Schools and the community.
• Support parents as partners in their child’s education.
• Identify needs and develop plans with families and school staff and community resources.
• Audit and conduct field investigations for residency affidavits.
• Schedule and conduct home visits during traditional office hours, weeknights and weekends as needed.
