Job summary

Public Defender Corporation for Boone and Lincoln Counties seeks a Parental Resource Navigator under our Title 4E grant. You will assist clients in abuse and neglect matters and connect them with services to complete improvement periods and reunite families.

The role requires experience or training with families and those in substance recovery, plus the ability to travel occasionally and work in a legal setting with confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or related certification a plus.
• Experience with children and families in abuse/neglect contexts preferred.
• Experience in substance recovery community or lived experience is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Connect with clients in the abuse and neglect system and act as liaison between office and clients.
• Guide parents toward improvement periods and connect with needed services (treatment, housing, employment).
• Attend regular court hearings to support the attorney and clients.
• Regularly participate in Family Treatment Court and treatment team activities.
• Attend meetings with community partners to support client goals.
• Maintain reports and databases to report results to Public Defender Services.
