Job summary

Center for Family Services in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Family Support Coordinator for the ReConnections Family Support Center. The FSC will provide peer-to-peer support in the substance use field, using compassionate approaches to assist program participants and their families.

You will create wellness plans, connect families with treatment resources, and facilitate psychoeducation and support groups.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 2+ years in substance use field or lived-in experience.
• Two years of sustained personal recovery.
• Active CPR/Peer Recovery certification required; obtain within 6 months if not held.
• Valid NJ driver’s license, insurance, and registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 peer support in person, by phone, or telehealth.
• Create individualized wellness plans with measurable goals.
• Offer resources on treatment options and access to services.
• Inform about Naloxone trainings and how to obtain Naloxone.
• Advocate for families and educate on patient brokering risks.
• Share lists of recovery resources and support groups.
• Use active listening and motivational interviewing to address needs.
• Guide families with CRAFT-based coping strategies.
• Facilitate psychoeducation and support group meetings as needed.
• Motivate loved ones to enter and stay in treatment; assist with referrals.
• Participate in community outreach and events.
