Job summary

Making Opportunity Count in Fitchburg, MA is seeking a Family Recovery Support Specialist to provide parenting and peer recovery education to families affected by opioid use. The role supports pregnant and postpartum individuals and helps coordinate access to treatment and recovery services using evidence-based approaches.

You will work with treating providers, facilitate parent groups, maintain confidential records, and travel to client homes as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Sustained recovery for at least 3 years with knowledge of addiction services.
• Experience supporting individuals and families affected by opioid use.
• Must be a parent.
• Recovery Coach Academy Certificate or ability to obtain within 4 months.
• Strong organization and computer skills; proficient with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to motivate clients.
• Experience planning and facilitating groups.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide parenting and peer recovery education and support to families with children from prenatal to kindergarten.
• Assist parents to build recovery and self-sufficiency skills and engage in treatment.
• Understand and support the Recovery Coach Model.
• Navigate healthcare and social services; accompany to appointments and meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to support evidence-based services for families in recovery.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records; submit required documentation.
• Assist with planning and delivery of parent groups and events.
• Flexible hours including evenings; remote work possible.
• Other duties as assigned.
