Job summary

Making Opportunity Count, Inc. seeks a Family Recovery Support Specialist to assist pregnant and postpartum women and parenting individuals affected by opioid use disorder.

You will provide assessments, referrals, and coordination of services using evidence-based interventions to support parenting, attachment, and child development. You will collaborate with providers, families, and state partners to organize access to services and support recovery goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be in sustained recovery for at least 3 years and have knowledge of addiction treatment and support services.
• Experience with supporting individuals and/or families affected by opioid use.
• Must be a parent.
• Recovery Coach Academy Certificate or ability to obtain within 4 months of hire date.
• Excellent organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with planning and facilitating groups.
• A valid Driver’s license and use of a vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide parenting and peer recovery education and support per Parents as Teachers home visiting model requirements.
• Help parents build recovery and self-sufficiency skills and engage in treatment.
• Support the Recovery Coach Model.
• Assist families in navigating healthcare and social services; accompany to appointments.
• Collaborate with providers to deliver evidence-based services.
• Maintain confidential records and document program activities.
• Plan and deliver parent groups and events.
• May require evening hours for family schedules.
• Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
