Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada is recruiting for a full-time Support Staff position in the Family Program at our Mather Community Campus. You will provide compassionate, non-judgmental service to residents and collaborate with staff to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions.
• General knowledge of issues related to homelessness and related challenges.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and function as part of a team.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules and regulations to residents and facilitate observance of the rules.
• Coordinate meal preparation/service, bed assignments, showers and other daily routines.
• Provide awake shift coverage and maintain grounds security.
• De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance to clients and coworkers.
• Maintain daily program reports, shift logs and clerical duties as needed.
