Job summary

Mission Mobile Medical seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner to lead our mobile clinic programs, bringing comprehensive primary care directly to underserved communities. You will champion access, lead program planning, and supervise care teams in a fast-paced, community-focused setting.

The role emphasizes delivering high-quality care on wheels, collaborating with nurses and MAs, and participating in leadership initiatives to drive growth and impact.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree as Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN, DNP) with FNP certification.
• Licensed or eligible for California APRN licensure as FNP.
• Experience in family medicine or primary care preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience using electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care services including exams, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to improve health outcomes.
• Take patient histories, perform exams, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and manage plans for chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, asthma).
• Document accurately in EHR and maintain patient records.
• Support clinic operations: opening/closing, inventory, scheduling, and maintaining a clean environment.

General Tasks

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, You Will

• Primary Care Services: Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, and provide routine primary care to improve patient health outcomes.


• Patient Assessments: Take medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.


• Chronic Disease Management: Develop and manage treatment plans for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.


• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.


• Administrative Duties: Including but not limited to assisting with opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow-up, verifying insurance, collecting payment, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean environment.


• Preventive Care: Administer vaccinations, conduct health screenings, and educate patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles.


• Collaboration: Work with other healthcare providers, nurses, and medical assistants to deliver comprehensive care.


• Community Outreach: Participate in outreach activities to raise awareness about the mobile clinic’s services and engage with the community.


• Actively participating in leadership-level planning for the best growth opportunities.

  • Master's or DNP Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with completion of an accredited FNP program, with current Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANPCB) Board Certification or equivalent certification.
  
  
  • Currently licensed or eligible for California APRN licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner

Work Environment

• 100% Onsite


• Travel to various community locations, often in underserved or rural areas


• Flexible working hours, including some evenings or weekends, depending on the clinic’s schedule


• Regular work on and around the mobile unit


• Community-facing role requiring strong interpersonal communication and professionalism


• Fast‑paced environment with outdoor work and varied weather conditions


• When mobile clinic events are not scheduled, this position will operate as a Family Nurse Practitioner within the brick-and-mortar clinic as needed

Salary & Benefits

• 80 PTO hours available after the first 60 days of service

• Weekly payday, every Friday
