Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney in Norwalk, CT to manage divorce and related matters from inception to resolution. You will draft pleadings, conduct research, and represent clients in court with support from a collaborative legal team.

The ideal candidate has a JD, CT bar, and strong litigation and writing skills, with the ability to handle high-conflict cases and deadlines while maintaining client communication and professionalism.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Connecticut Bar license.
• Family law, matrimonial, or relevant civil litigation experience.
• Courtroom and litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
• Ability to independently manage cases and competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-management skills.
• Professional, composed approach to sensitive and high-conflict matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of divorce and family law matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, modifications, and related family law issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, negotiations, and other proceedings.
• Manage discovery, including financial and document-intensive matters.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel.
• Maintain strong, responsive communication with clients throughout their cases.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on complex and high-conflict matters.
