Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join our Connecticut firm. You will handle divorce and related family law matters, maintain direct client contact, and take ownership of case strategy with a collaborative team.

You will draft pleadings and filings, conduct research, and appear in court, negotiations, and hearings. The ideal candidate has strong writing, research, and client-management skills and thrives in a high-conflict environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Connecticut Bar license.
• Family law, matrimonial, or civil litigation experience.
• Courtroom and litigation experience preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and drafting skills.
• Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-management skills.
• Professional, composed approach to high-conflict matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of divorce and family law matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, modifications, and related family law issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, negotiations, and other proceedings.
• Manage discovery, including financial and document-intensive matters.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel.
• Maintain strong, responsive communication with clients throughout their cases.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on complex and high-conflict matters.
