Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas is seeking a part-time Children’s Behavior Interventionist to work with high-risk youth and families. The role emphasizes structured sessions five days a week, three hours daily, using the Strengthening Families curriculum and neurostimulator activities to promote stabilization and recovery.

The position involves coordinating services and documenting progress with a focus on trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications

• Requires a non-judgmental attitude and ability to relate to families served.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience identifying and obtaining formal and informal resources for families.

Responsibilities

• Completes 40 hours of KDADS trainings prior to meeting the first family and annual trainings thereafter.
• Uses the Strengthening Families curriculum during visits and makes it relatable to families.
• Provides at least 3 neurostimulator activities per day with youth and family.
• Implements trauma-informed interventions on each visit.
• Supports youth in developing daily living independence and skills.
• Builds rapport with caregivers and provides ongoing support.
• Assesses youth progress every 3 months using CAFAS.
