Job summary

Kids In Distress (KID) seeks a Home Visitor to initiate and maintain regular long-term home visiting services for families in the community. You will provide parenting education, child development guidance, safety tips, and referrals to community resources, building trusting relationships with participants.

Responsibilities include completing screens, documenting interactions, attending supervision, and coordinating with teams to support family goals.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience with children or families.
Bilingual in English and Creole preferred but not required.
Ability to establish trusting relationships and work with diverse populations.
Knowledge of infant and child development.
Computer literate and able to complete documents in Microsoft Word.
Strong organizational and scheduling skills; able to work independently in the community.
Valid Florida driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

Provide weekly home visits for a caseload of families, delivering parenting education.
Complete child developmental and parent screens; model positive parent-child interactions.
Assist families in creating and achieving goals; link to community resources.
Submit required documentation; participate in supervision and meetings.
Initiate outreach to potential participants; review referrals for eligibility.
Complete HFFAT within 30 days of enrollment.
Follow safety and program protocols; ensure transportation to homes.
