Kids In Distress (KID) seeks a full-time Family Support Counselor for the KID FIRST Program. You will provide in-home wraparound services to at-risk families, conduct family assessments, and develop case plans with weekly documentation.

This on-site role requires on-call availability, regular home visits, and collaboration with partner agencies to connect families with housing, food, and social services. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and at least one year of experience are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Bilingual in Creole or Spanish strongly preferred.
• Experience with domestic violence, substance abuse, child abuse; knowledge of child welfare and parenting services in Broward County.
• Ability to perform needs assessments and provide in-home direct services and crisis counseling.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Face-to-face contact with families in their homes at least weekly.
• Complete family assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses.
• Develop a family preservation plan (case plan) to keep children safe.
• Maintain files, case logs, and weekly progress reports.
• Assist families in improving relationships and parenting skills.
• Help families access community resources (food, housing, transit, education, employment, respite).
• Provide 24-hour emergency on-call support for assigned families.
• Attend required court hearings.
