Responsibilities

• Increases parent involvement by working with school, parent, and community organizations.
• Facilitates parent and school community concerns and issues including policies and facilities.
• Conducts outreach to engage parents in their children’s education.
• Convenes regular parent meetings and events on topics of concern to parents.
• Attends parent meetings with the principal when appropriate.
• Supports the parent association with by-laws, elections, and governance per regulations.
• Acts as liaison to central and field-based parent support staff.
• Maintains contact with community organizations providing services to the school’s program.
• Organizes back-to-school and other events to welcome parents and build community.
