Job summary

Outreach Works in Wilkes-Barre, PA, is seeking a Family Development Specialist (SafeCare) to provide home visitation and support services to under-resourced families. You will deliver SafeCare curriculum, coordinate weekly play and learn activities, and refer families to schools and community resources.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role with steady scheduling. Required: Bachelor's degree and reliable transportation; expect evening/weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; familiarity with at-risk populations and diverse cultures preferred.
• Ability to teach SafeCare curriculum in participants' homes.
• Good understanding of family dynamics and child development.
• Mandatory training/certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides weekly home visits (60–90 minutes) to families with children 0–5 at risk for or reporting neglect/abuse.
• Implements SafeCare curriculum to improve parent-infant/child interaction, health care, and home safety skills.
• Assists with planning and implementing weekly play & learn groups and Parent Cafés.
