Job summary

Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) is hiring two Family Development Coaches to provide individualized support to fathers in the Fatherhood Initiative. Coaches will perform one-on-one coaching, case management, and connect participants with community resources to reach educational, employment, and family goals.

Reporting to the Fatherhood Program Director, you will collaborate with MCNY Career Services, STRIVE, and partner organizations to ensure high-quality, participant-centered services

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with NYC public systems (ACS, HRA, OCSS) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience with custodial and noncustodial fathers or fatherhood programs.
  • Familiarity with DYCD-funded programs or performance tracking systems such as DYCD Connect.
  • Proficiency in case management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to fathers in the Fatherhood Initiative through one-on-one coaching, case management, and connection to community resources.
  • Conduct intake assessments to identify participants’ strengths, challenges, and goals related to parenting, employment, and education.
  • Develop individualized family development plans and provide regular coaching to support goal achievement.
  • Coordinate referrals for education, employment, housing, legal, and health services.
  • Facilitate parenting, life skills, and financial literacy workshops.
  • Maintain consistent communication with participants to support engagement, retention, and completion.
  • Document all services and outcomes in DYCD Connect and internal data systems.
  • Assist in outreach, recruitment, and orientation of new participants.
  • Support planning and implementation of family engagement and community events.
  • Ensure compliance with DYCD guidelines for participant eligibility, service delivery, and documentation.
