Job summary

The Whole Child in Downey, CA is hiring a Family Response Team Member (FRT) for a full-time role. The FRT will screen, triage, and connect homeless families to crisis housing and services within the Family Solutions Center, focusing on children and their families in SPA 7.

Responsibilities include crisis housing planning, data entry into HMIS, and coordination with housing providers and case managers. Strong preference for bilingual candidates and relevant social services experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related mental health field preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma required.
  • 1–4 years of work experience in case management or rehabilitative services preferred.
  • Spanish language fluency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and triage families at-risk and homeless.
  • Coordinate with FSC Case Management and HFSS crisis housing providers.
  • Divert families to other sources of assistance when possible.
  • Address safety concerns and conduct child safety screenings.
  • Develop and implement crisis housing plans.
  • Connect families to housing services and related supports.
  • Enter data into HMIS.
  • Attend community meetings and represent the agency.
  • Follow up to ensure housing placement and permanency.
