Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is seeking a Family Assistance Program Specialist to provide emergency assistance and resource navigation for low-income households across Arizona.

You will help individuals access utility, rental, funeral, and other supportive services while engaging with youth and families at outreach events and workshops. You will ensure accurate guidance through the application process, maintain knowledge of eligibility requirements and policies, and support grant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years working with low-income population preferred
• Excellent communication skills, customer service and organizational skills are necessary
• Bilingual in English/Spanish required
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, and partner organizations
• Ability to foster diversity and open communication within teams and programs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a high performing team
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, and web-based computer programs
• Successful co-facilitation experience preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Able to attend outreach events to grant service areas as planned

Because apparently navigating rental assistance, utility support, and public resources should not require a PhD in bureaucracy. Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

As a Family Assistance Program Specialist, you will provide general emergency assistance and resource navigation to low-income households throughout Arizona. You will support individuals and families experiencing crisis by helping them access utility, rental, funeral, and other available assistance. You will also participate in community outreach events, engage with youth and families, support workshops and events, and assist eligible individuals in accessing state resources and other services. You will ensure applicants receive accurate guidance throughout the application process while maintaining a strong understanding of program eligibility requirements, application procedures, relevant policies, and available community resources. In this role, you will support the Project Lead in implementing grant deliverables and participate in youth, individual, and family programming that helps achieve contract and grant goals.

You are also comfortable balancing direct client support, administrative responsibilities, outreach activities, and program documentation.

Minimum Qualifications And Competencies

Education /Background:

• Bachelor’s degree or at least two (2) years of experience working with low-income population preferred
