Job summary

Community Action, Inc. in Texas seeks a Family Advocate Assistant to support family services across Hays and Caldwell Counties. The role works Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, with a salary of $16.27–$18.50 per hour, commensurate with experience and education.

You will assist in case management, maintain files, and coordinate transportation under the supervision of the Family Services Director, with emphasis on confidentiality, accuracy, and respectful community engagement.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1-year experience working in a social service environment that required communicating with clients
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in both Spanish and English
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assists the Family Advocate to support their delivery of comprehensive case management.
• Approaches communication with children, parents, staff, and community with the intent to preserve relationships.
• Assists in Center operations with the guidance of the Family Advocate and Site Supervisor.
• In coordination with the Family Advocate, assist with transporting following agency procedures.
• Assists in maintaining child's files.
• Reports all suspected child abuse to the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-252-5400 and following agency policy and procedures.
• Submits time sheets accurately and on time to supervisor.
• Submits mileage accurately and on time to supervisor.
• Be a positive role model and maintain confidentiality.
