Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking Fall Athletic Coaches for the 2026-2027 school year at Hartford Public High School. Coaches are responsible for developing student-athletes through effective coaching and sportsmanship.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in education, current Coaching Permit, CPR/First Aid certification, and possess relevant coaching experience. The role offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to students' athletic development and discipline.

Qualifications

• Three years of successful coaching experience.
• Experience working with students and parents in an urban setting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve coaching programs.
• Help students achieve high skill levels and sportsmanship.
• Coordinate scheduling and practice sessions.

Skills

Establish written rules and regulations

Enforce discipline and sportsmanship

Coach participants in necessary skills

Plan and schedule practices

Work closely with supervisors in scheduling

Recommend equipment purchases

Maintain attendance and accident reports

Oversee safety conditions

Distribute and collect athletic equipment

Experience in coaching

Leadership and communication skills

Knowledge of regulations (CIAC, NFHS)

Education

Bachelor's degree in education or related field

Current Coaching Permit

First Aid & CPR certification

Concussion Training Certificate
