Job summary

LJB Inc. is seeking a Mid-level Structural Engineer to join its Safety Practice in Charlotte, NC. You will analyze, design, and lead fall protection projects, coordinating with design staff and preparing construction documents.

The role requires 5+ years in structural engineering, a civil/architectural/mechanical background with structural emphasis, and CAD experience (Revit/Bluebeam). Travel up to 50–75% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, or mechanical engineering with structural emphasis preferred.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in structural projects and fall protection preferred.
  • CAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred) RAM or other structural analysis software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Document existing conditions to accommodate fall protection system additions.
  • Analyze structural framing (steel, cold-formed steel, concrete) for fall protection.
  • Develop fall protection layouts addressing client needs and coordinate with the structure.
  • Assist with preparation of construction documents.
  • Coordinate with design staff to ensure accurate drawings/deliverables.
  • Perform tasks in Revit and CAD to complete engineering work.
  • Coordinate with clients on project issues and attend meetings.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through training and seminars.
