Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking a qualified educator for the Fall Break Learning Academy in Memphis, TN. The role focuses on delivering professional instruction to support academic, social, physical, and skill development for students in designated grades/subjects during the fall program.

The educator will create conducive learning environments, prepare instructional materials, assess progress, and report to parents and Site Administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education with an endorsement in the grade/subject taught.
• Tennessee teaching certificate or equivalent as required by district policy.

Responsibilities

• Plans fall school curriculum and prepares lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs.
• Assesses student progress and provides written and oral progress reports to parents and administrators.
• Maintains classroom management and records in accordance with district policies.
• Convenes with parents and resource staff to develop individualized educational plans.
• Instructs students using strategies to develop cognitive, perceptual, language, and social/emotional skills.
• Sponsors activities and tutors as requested; assists in implementing district policies.
