AMDA Los Angeles invites applications for Peer Mentor positions to support students with life-skills, academics, and wellness. Mentors will work with 1-2 semester students plus transfers and online learners, building belonging and guiding peers.
Responsibilities include mentoring, hosting events, sharing campus resources, providing referrals, and maintaining an approachable presence. The role emphasizes inclusive service, customer excellence, and collaboration with Student Success staff.
Peer Mentors assist students of the Los Angeles campus with skill-building support by providing academic support, hosting wellness-related events, and helping students connect to campus services and resources. Peer Mentors develop opportunities for students to contribute to a communal and individual sense of belonging.
Peer Mentors support the students of Los Angeles with skill-building support by providing peer mentorship in areas related to life-skills development, academic, and social wellness. Peer Mentors are primarily assigned to support 1- 2 semester students, along with transfer, 5Z/7AC, and online students. However, a student from any semester can be assigned a Peer Mentor by Student Success staff as needed.
Time commitment hours will fluctuate, but a Peer Mentor is expected to be available for: weekly Student Success team meetings, regular check in meetings with the Student Success Specialist, Peer Mentor Training, New Student Orientation & Move-In, Welcome Weeks, Graduation, and other integral departmental times.
