Job summary

J.B. Hunt is offering an Operations Internship for Fall 2026 in Chester, NY. Under close supervision, you will assist with providing transportation and logistics services and gain exposure to basic transportation management principles.

You will participate in daily operational tasks such as freight planning, asset utilization, safety management, and DOT compliance, while supporting payroll, logistics analysis, and driver supervision. This internship is part-time with compensation of $15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Able to work 20-25 hours per week during the school semester.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Junior or Senior level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight and asset utilization.
• Assist with DOT compliance, driver payroll, and logistics analysis.
• Support Customer Value Delivery and driver supervision as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
