Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Westfield, MA is offering an Operations Internship for Fall 2026.

Under supervision, you will assist with customers by providing transportation and logistics services and gain exposure to basic transportation management principles. You will participate in daily tasks such as freight planning, asset utilization, safety compliance, and driver payroll, with opportunities to learn industry trends, company initiatives, and how to support driver retention.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours per week during the school semester.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight; asset utilization; safety management; DOT compliance; driver payroll; logistics management/analysis; driver supervision; profit-and-loss management; maintenance coordination.
• Gain understanding of industry trends and company initiatives as it relates to driver retention.
• Perform pertinent account-specific duties as required by customer.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
