West Valley Christian School (WVCS) seeks an Extended Care Teacher to guide young learners in a Christ-centered setting. The role offers morning and afternoon hours, requires a positive role model, and emphasizes safety, supervision, and engaging activities.

The candidate should be a devoted follower of Christ with related educational background, able to work independently or with a team, and committed to nurturing students academically, spiritually, and socially.

Qualifications

• Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and align with WVCS’s mission and Statement of Faith.
• Faithfully attends and supports a local church with beliefs aligned to the school.
• Available Monday–Friday; early mornings and late afternoons as specified.
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in education related areas preferred but not required.
• Child care experience preferred but not required.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Introduce children to God’s love and Jesus Christ in an age-appropriate way.
• Create a nurturing, Christ-centered environment for spiritual development.
• Supervise safety and well-being during Extended Care, including homework, crafts, recreation, and cleanup.
• Administer basic first aid when needed and maintain confidentiality with families.
• Uphold WVCS mission and values in all interactions and meetings.
• Support fundraising and outreach events as part of the school community.
• Assist with end-of-year classroom closing tasks and other duties as assigned.
