Job summary

Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, FL invites applications for a full-time Surgical Technology faculty position. The instructor will teach assigned courses, contribute to curriculum development, and leverage instructional technology to enhance learning outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, a certified surgical technologist credential, and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Credential of Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required.
• Minimum of two years of experience, either in the operating room in the scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology or a combination of both, within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses.
• Assists in curriculum development, course reports, and textbook selection.
• Uses instructional technology methods when presenting course content.
• Provides written course syllabus with policies, procedures, grading and learning outcomes.
• Uses up-to-date course materials, including learning objectives, texts and supplementary teaching materials.
• Implements classroom management strategies in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online format.
• Submits grades or other course assessment reports in a timely manner.
• Maintains routine classroom responsibilities professionally.
