Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an entry-level Faculty Support Specialist to assist with faculty processes from appointment to emeritus under supervision. The role centers on coordinating interactions with institutional offices and ensuring adherence to policy standards.

You will support faculty recruitment, appointments, and evaluations, while facilitating PTAC/PTE requirements and service hand-offs with key stakeholders across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Four (4) years’ experience required; may be substituted for education.
• Knowledge of faculty processes and institutional offices; ability to engage multiple offices.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs appointment processes to ensure requirements are met.
• Translates faculty recruitment and initial appointment process materials into process-appropriate electronic documents.
• Coordinates Adjunct/Adjoint appointment processes, reviews packets for accuracy and completeness, and obtains required approvals.
• Assists as an information resource for the departmental administrative leadership team.
• Executes and demonstrates understanding of UT Health Careers for all faculty recruiting and appointment steps in dialogue with department contact.
• Supports compliance in faculty separation, termination, and retirement processes.
• Supports PTAC and PTE process requirements for Promotion, Tenure, and Appointment.
• anticipates PTAC-related appointment needs and changes, e.g., internal promotion, Emeritus nominations.
• Communicates requirements related to faculty evaluations and reporting.
• Coordinates service hand-offs with other stakeholders.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
