Job summary

Massachusetts Maritime Academy seeks a faculty member in the Emergency Management Division to teach a 12-credit load per semester in EM and related topics. The role includes curriculum development, committee participation, and supervising experiential learning programs off-campus, with travel and residential duties as needed.

The candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching, advising, and communications, and align with the Academy's mission.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated potential to fulfill evaluation criteria for teaching and advising at the college level.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and computer skills.
• Understanding and appreciation of the Academy's unique mission.

Responsibilities

• Teach 12 credits per semester in Emergency Management and related courses.
• Regular curriculum development and improvement.
• Participate in academic committees and experiential learning programs.
• Teach and supervise students in off-campus settings, including travel and residence away from home.
• Serve as an academic advisor to assigned students.

Education

Doctorate in Emergency Management or related field

Master's degree (for non-tenure-track option)
