Job summary

Tufts University is seeking a Faculty Information Services Specialist to provide operational, technical, and project coordination for faculty information management and reporting within the FIS ecosystem. The role enables Tufts to scale its research information services, improve data quality, and support institutional reporting needs.

This is a two-year limited-term appointment with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing daily operations of computer systems, providing technical guidance and developing reports/dashboards.
• Proficiency in SQL for designing and implementing complex reporting solutions and data visualizations.
• Ability to balance competing requests, deadlines, and dependencies across multiple university stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of FIS and repository data structures and data feeds; troubleshoot and modify data feeds.
• Design and deliver FIS and repository data exports, custom reports, dashboards (SQL-based) and monitor reports.
• Investigate incidents and technical problems; provide guidance to users of FIS data and related reporting solutions.
• Prepare and maintain user guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
• Work closely with the Sr. FIS Program Manager in planning and execution of strategic initiatives; maintain Jira boards and project records.
